Char Dham Yatra Packages by Santram Holidays

As Santram Holidays only offer tour packages which our owner, Jatin Chhabra, has personally visited. Hence we are not offering this package but below we have shared resourceful details which will assist you in planning a tour of Char Dham Yatra in 2017. Kindly have a look.

1. Char Dham Yatra Details

Char Dham Yatra starts from the month of April to November. In this Yatra, one visits the four famous shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri which are dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Ganga. One must give 11 days to visit all these temples which are in the state of Uttarakhand and roads to reach these cities passes through curvy mountain roads.

2. Char Dham Yatra Map Route

A large number of travellers start Char Dham Yatra from New Delhi, then from here the next stop is Haridwar, Barkot, Yamunotri (1st Dham), back to Barkot, Uttarkashi, Gangotri (2nd Dham) and back to Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Kedarnath (3rd Dham) and Rudraprayag, Badrinath (4th Dham), Rishikesh and back to Delhi. We’ll soon add a map too.

3. Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter

One can significantly reduce the time of Char Dham Yatra from 11 days to 3, by booking a helicopter ride to all four temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. The helicopter service is provided by government of India only and all travel agents which offer this service buy it from the Uttarakhand government. The cost may go above 100,000 per person.

4. Char Dham Yatra by Car and Tempo Traveller

Majority of people plan a Char Dham Yatra by bus as it’s cheap but for travellers who are a bit privacy conscious, can book Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Tavera and 9 to 24 seater tempo traveller (only SUV cars are suggested for Char Dham Yatra). In a Char Dham Yatra by car and tempo traveller, one can finish this tour in 10-11 days and also visit beautiful hill station in Uttarakhand, which isn’t the case in bus tour.

5. Char Dham Yatra by Bus

One of the most way to plan a Char Dham Yatra is by Bus. One can book a wide range of Deluxe AC, Non AC Bus, Volvo bus and Minibus (along with a tour guide)  which takes around 11-22 days to visit all the four temples of Char Dham Yatra. This package is more popular who are looking for cheap packages as a bus tour of Char Dham Yatra starts from Rs 10,ooo per person and it increases as per bus quality and accommodation options.

6. Char Dham Yatra by train

Apart from bus, cars and Helicopter, one can also plan a Char Dham Yatra by trains. The train tour is almost of the same price as the car tour as not all the temples are well connected with India railways and a traveller will need to hire local transportation from railway station to temple complex. We have shared this tour just to present our view, else one can definitely plan a trip of Char Dham by train.

7. Char Dham Yatra Dates

In 2017, the dates of Char Dham Yatra starts from late April, as around on 28th April 2017, the gates if Yamunotri and Gangotri Temple will open. And with in two days, both Kedarnath and Badrinath temples gates will also get opened. So the Yatra starts when the gates of all four temples ate open and Yatra closes when the temples gates get closed, in the month of November.
